Why did Apple create the iPad when they had this already

I don’t know why Apple spent all the time and money on the iPad when they already had a keyboard-less laptop…

hehe…

“Sparks flew. Emotions ran high. She actually talked to me, man!” & a great vid

A great vid… moving picture stuff that has become so big. I’m amazed by this stuff and this piece is another phenomenal example…
Basically, it showcases the inner emotions that don’t always find outward play, in this case, the moment of contact between two strangers… it reminds me of this quote:

“Sparks flew. Emotions ran high. She actually talked to me, man!” – LLoyd Christmas, Dumb and Dumber

Respect for a free-runners skill

Since my little bro has been into free running lately, I figured this vid is applicable. Pretty simple, it shows Damien Walters training in the gymnastics gym and such. I need to work on safely landing my backflip I guess! jeez… talk about some level of physical condition and skill!

Violins, vocals & great artistic spin…thanks Paul

Paul Dateh rips it up! I dig this vid of him taking top 40 hits to the next level. I’m always a fan of strings in pop/rock stuff. Violins & cellos… (granted no cello here…). Paul, I salute this party of a piece…

A book in hand – the fate of publishing

This little vid is pretty clever. I’m definitely a fan of books. My library is ever-growing as I keep buying more. I struggle to keep up in reading them all but welcome the challenge with a smile. I definitely still prefer a real book to e-readers but that may also be since I’ve never given one a real shot past just fiddling. What is the future of publishing? Is it dying or transforming? Will it ever be as big as the past?

Photos can change the world

Photography can have a substantial affect on humanity.  The emotions that can be communicated via photograph can be overwhelming and move us to act.  In this age of digital photography, that impact has expanded as the proliferation and simplicity of digital has expanded.  Now, everyone has a camera and countless pictures are taken and even shared via internet channels everyday.

This vid from TED expresses that to some degree.  It mostly shares how the impact of photography can move us in light of tragedy but I believe it can move us in light of joy as well.  Think of the happy moments and experiences we have today, the birth of a child, your wedding, and any other joyous, life-changing experience.  Taking a photo can capture the moment and even communicate the emotion to others.  Its a powerful medium to be certain…

Family Tunes: my cousin’s band

Nothin’ like a family plug… This song was written and played by my Cousin Jake Bush and his band. He’s in high school and just jams from time to time. My brother, Jordan, produced and mixed it.  I’m a fan! This one was just finished in the past week. Check out “The Summer Flood”…

Old Spice god says: you could smell like me…

Old Spice nailed there latest campaign, thanks to Craig and Eric over at Weiden + Kennedy (ad agency). Leo Laporte had them over on Twit TV giving a breakdown of the commercial and how they shot it. What a trip! Its amazing the work they go to in order to get this stuff. IT makes you appreciate it that much more. I’m with Leo on this one, its a winner! You gotta love creatives like these guys, make great commercials that not only entertain but sell! I wanna smell like this Old Spice god!

Architecture is Art (& photo… & video)

This piece by Alex Roman is a fantastic short demonstrating architecture from a “photographic” perspective. He did the whole thing with CG! (computer generated, the whole deal!). I’m a big fan of this so check it out!

The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman on Vimeo.

As I mentioned it is all CG, the following video shows the breakdown of the shots rendered in the above video. Its amazing what can be done these days…

Compositing Breakdown (T&S) from Alex Roman on Vimeo.

I’ve been on a video kick lately here on the blog. I guess I just like the extra “expression” you get from video, see it and hear it…
