I don’t know why Apple spent all the time and money on the iPad when they already had a keyboard-less laptop…
hehe…

a recent article in Reason Magazine here, describes the fact that the law of diminishing returns simply does not apply to society as a whole. The human mind is capable of innovations and collaborative idea generation that seem to create an augmentation of returns, leading to our current societal success. We have advanced more and more rapidly while many continue to say “its unsustainable and we can’t continue to grow this way. Eventually it will slow down”. The interesting part is that every time they say that, when eventually arrives, we are moving faster. Then the next econ pundit or whomever states the same “eventually it will slow down.” I’m not so sure it will!
The wholistic interconnected environment of the world allows innovation to spring up in one place, then when it appears to slow, it springs up in another. Then ideas combine (or “have sex” as the author states) and the results are greater than the sum of the individual ideas involved!
This is a great article regarding open-market natural innovation. Again, check it out here.

Wow, this little vid helps you open up your mind to the possibilities of the iPad. Now, its official, I want one. I’m typically an Android man and would love to see an android tablet but I’m definitely wondering when that will actually happen (sick of speculation). The Notion Ink Adam is probably my favorite on paper but we’ll see when it comes out!

A great vid… moving picture stuff that has become so big. I’m amazed by this stuff and this piece is another phenomenal example…
Basically, it showcases the inner emotions that don’t always find outward play, in this case, the moment of contact between two strangers… it reminds me of this quote:
“Sparks flew. Emotions ran high. She actually talked to me, man!” – LLoyd Christmas, Dumb and Dumber

Paul Dateh rips it up! I dig this vid of him taking top 40 hits to the next level. I’m always a fan of strings in pop/rock stuff. Violins & cellos… (granted no cello here…). Paul, I salute this party of a piece…

Another exploration of the causes of the financial crisis. It is important to understand the causes so as to not repeat history as we so often do.

Photography can have a substantial affect on humanity. The emotions that can be communicated via photograph can be overwhelming and move us to act. In this age of digital photography, that impact has expanded as the proliferation and simplicity of digital has expanded. Now, everyone has a camera and countless pictures are taken and even shared via internet channels everyday.
This vid from TED expresses that to some degree. It mostly shares how the impact of photography can move us in light of tragedy but I believe it can move us in light of joy as well. Think of the happy moments and experiences we have today, the birth of a child, your wedding, and any other joyous, life-changing experience. Taking a photo can capture the moment and even communicate the emotion to others. Its a powerful medium to be certain…
Gotta love the classic blendtec vid… They are on top of the iPad considering it just came out this past weekend!
